The Nichomachean Ethics

One of Aristotle's more important works in which the philosopher focuses on the goal of human life within society. Throughout the books which constitute of the Ethics, Aristotle repeats that the highest endeavor for humanity is happiness. In it there are different levels of happiness, some which are formed from subjective experiences, however, true happiness is objective and goes beyond the society. In it aids us to shape the moral virtue of society which is ultimately formed through the experiences of actions and habits. It is ultimately that he(she) who is a philosopher is one who knows the objective happiness which is the pursue of the Sophia and the contemplation of truth. In this philosophy is the highest of friends for men.

My thoughts on the Nicocachean Ethics:

Since being a philosopher it’s the true nature of humankind, then he is the enlightened one. There is a hierarchy of the ends, this hierarchy explains which goals are more important for a human to achieve, and above all philosophy can be found. For he who seeks to possess wisdom seeks the highest of the end then he will be the most valuable person to recognize the other ends. The Phronimos (the one who seeks wisdom) knows the hierarchy of the ends since he has already achieved by default the lower goals. A philosopher, is a man of great-soul, a person that knows his greatness. The political philosopher seeks the wisdom for the city, the just rules. He is better equipped to choose the right choice, and thus as a lawmaker create a society in which the city benefits, not himself alone seeking self-interest.
